Kelantan is located at the north-east coast of Peninsular Malaysia facing the south China Sea and covers a land area of 14,922 sq km. Its state capital, Kota Bharu, is a bustling town well connected to other major towns in Malaysia serves as the center for Kelantan's administrative and business activities. A wide choice of clothes, T-shirt, sarongs and hats are also offered at reasonable prices. There are also hats, keychains and keris available. These items are perfect as souvenirs. The bustling bazaar, with lots of traditional food items to savour, makes this place fun and interesting to be at. It is especially busy during the afternoons and evenings
Islamic Museum :D
The history of Islam in Kelantan is well documented in the artifacts and inscriptions exhibited here. The setting-up of the Islamic Museum is timely as Kelantan is one of the centers of Islamic Learning.China Town :D
Here, visitors can watch skillful demonstration of kite-flying involving the giant "wau", huge saucer-shaped tops or "gasing" that can spin non-stop for hours and enjoy the rich resonance of the "rebana ubi", colorful decorated giant drums. For evening entertainment, there is traditional Malay music and the "wayang kulit", a puppet show which employs a skillful combination of light and shadow play as well as "silat", the traditional Malays art of self-defense.
Fishing Village - Lets experience it :D
No visit to Kelantan would be complete without a trip to a fishing village dubbed "the soul of Malaysia's East Coast". Two of the most well-known villages are the Sabak Beach (approx. 14 km from Kota Bharu) and Kuala Besar (15 km from Kota Bharu).
If you wish to fully capture the moment, you should arrive no later than 2:30 pm when the boats laden with the day's catch are first spotted on the horizon. As they come ashore. their intricately carved prows are a riot of colors. Then the bargaining begins between wholesalers and the fishermen - a noisy but interesting ritual.
